If you’ve always wondered how people record their screen activity, then this article is for you. Whether you’re a professor who needs a way to share iOS recordings with your students or perhaps you just want a way to record an Instagram clip, today’s tutorial will show you how to screen record from your iPhone both through the control center and also with third-party apps. All you need is either an iPhone or iPad with iOS 11. If you don’t have iOS 11, be sure to back up your phone and upgrade before starting this tutorial.
Once you’ve installed iOS 11, navigate to the Control Center within your phone’s Settings and tap on Customize Controls.
Once here, you’ll be able to add more buttons to appear within the Control Center. Simply tap on Screen Recording and this will add it to the main Control Center on your iPhone or iPad. This will allow you to access Screen Recording by simply swiping up on your iPhone’s home screen.
Now for the fun part. To start screen recording on your iPhone or iPad, first, open up the Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of your phone. You should see the newly added Screen Recording button.
Tap on the Screen Recording button and you’ll then notice a red countdown bar at the top of your phone’s screen. You’ll see a three-second countdown and then all your phone’s screen activity will be recorded. Once you’ve done recording, tap the red bar on the top of the screen and the option to stop recording will pop up. Each video recorded through the Screen Recording feature will automatically be saved to your camera roll.
